Common Ailments
I was reluctant to include a section about common ailments and how to
help them with massage, based on Louise Hay's philosophy about disease,
but some do not share this philosophy.
For those people, I hope this information helps!
Here's the philosophy:
To acknowledge and focus on things that are going wrong in the body (or
anywhere in one's life) is to give these conditions power and increase
whatever is being focused on.
Yes, health concerns should be dealt with,
but it's best to not to get too emotionally entangled with the disease
(become depressed or feel hopeless or powerless against what is
happening.)
It can be challenging to shift perspective
in this way, but you can use tools like inspirational books and movies,
and then use the emotional lift it brings to set the intent of getting
better and healing yourself.
Joyful, hopeful moods actually change the
body chemistry for the better and will increase the effectiveness of
any western medicine or therapies you are using.
Some of the conditions that are automatically associated with massage therapy are listed below.
I hope this helps and if you would like me
to write about any common ailments that are not listed here and how
massage can help, please let me know.
