Chair Massage
Chair massage is perfect for one of those days when you are desperate
to take a time out, but the schedule is so tight, you can't fit a full
body massage session into your day.
I have clients that come to me on their
lunch break for a 10-30 minute chair massage session, and they leave
relaxed, alert and ready to return to work. It's great for a lunch
break because you don't have to worry about removing your clothes
because no oil is used, so they can be in and out in a jiffy!
Chair massage is massage performed in a
specialized massage chair. It usually consists of circulatory, deep
tissue, or trigger point work, focusing specifically on the back, upper
limbs, neck and head.
Chair massage is an outstanding addition to parties and events and is a great way to relieve overstressed employees.
This short "stress-buster" massage relieves tension in neck, back and
shoulder muscles, reducing irritability and increasing productivity.
Health food markets typically have chair
massage and it's a great way to test out a new therapist before
committing to a full body massage.
The other place chair massage is typically
found is in an office setting. Companies hire me to come in on a
regular basis (one a week or twice a month) to work on their employees.
It's a great way for the boss to treat his or her employees and studies
have found it actually increases productivity!
Chair massage sessions can be 60 minutes or longer, however the typical session is 10-30 minute long.
